The external Board of Directors consists of the following individuals:


Mr. Peter Day

Peter has substantial experience working with entrepreneurs over his 30 plus year business career. He obtained his C.A. designation in 1979, and in addition to several years in public accounting working with entrepreneurial companies, he has managed a commercial lending unit for a national Schedule A Bank, served as VP Finance for a diverse group of companies with revenues in excess of $100 million, and as President built a technology focussed venture capital firm from inception, eventually managing assets in excess of $125 million, which he sold on behalf of its shareholders in 2005.

He is currently a partner in a boutique management consulting firm, working with entrepreneurs on planning and executing on the sale of their businesses, as well as acting as financial advisor on business transactions such as management buyouts and other real estate and business transactions.


Ms. Sharon Irwin-Foulon

Sharon is currently the Director, Career Management at the Richard Ivey School of Business, where she manages a team of 12 professionals that are currently redefining and implementing a strategic stakeholder relations delivery model.  The team’s work focuses on engaging Ivey’s primary stakeholder groups in meaningful ways and leveraging the most influential individuals in the population to create positive change, engagement and overall satisfaction for corporate and student clients. Sharon’s team is recognized by some of the top business schools as one of the most innovative and effective in their field.
 
In 2005 Sharon was nominated to Canada’s Top ‘40 under 40’ for her work and approach to stakeholder relations within a university setting and ranked as one of Monster.ca’s “Great Bosses”.  In that year she was also the first to receive an “outstanding staff contribution award” from the demanding MBA student population.     

Over the course of her career, Sharon has worked in London Ontario, Toronto and Hong Kong.  She has also worked on leadership and change development engagements in a number of industries including automotive, financial services, healthcare, and entrepreneurship.  

North American media featuring Sharon has included (but is not limited to) The National Post, The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Ottawa Citizen, Report on Business magazine, Business News Network (online) and television appearances on Report on Business Television.  

Sharon holds a BA in Administrative and Information Studies from the University of Western Ontario and a Masters in Human Systems Intervention from Concordia.

Sharon lives in London, Ontario with her husband, daughter and their Chesapeake Bay Retriever.  She has been active on a number of private sector boards, as well as volunteer on non-for-profit boards and committees within her community.


Mr. Robert Kayser

Robert H. (Bob) Kayser is President of RHK Consulting Inc., London, Ontario, a company providing consulting services in general management, strategic marketing, product development and transition strategies for medical technology companies in the health care industry.

Retiring in 2001, after a career of nearly 30 years with Medtronic, Inc., the Minneapolis-based leading medical technology company dedicated to cardiovascular, neurological, spinal and ENT devices, his career includes management and executive positions in Canada, United Kingdom, Switzerland and USA.

Graduating from Sir George Williams University (now Concordia University) in Montreal with a Bachelor of Science degree his additional training includes International Marketing programs at the University of Western Ontario (1983) and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia (1997).

He his currently serving on the boards of several early stage medical technology private and public companies based in London,Ontario. He is also an Associate with STS Capital Partners, a Toronto-based firm specializing in transition strategies for privately held mid-cap companies.

Bob’s community commitments include board or volunteer positions with several local agencies largely focused on the issues of women and children as well as serving as an Executive in Residence at the Ivey School of Business and as a board member on the LEDC Life Sciences Board.


Dr. Harold Wodlinger

Harold Wodlinger is President of Wodlinger Consulting, a company that provides consulting services in the area of medical devices to venture capital and medical device companies, and to hospitals, and also assists physicians in the validation and licensing of inventions.  Assignments have included due diligence studies, strategic planning, business development, product development, and market surveys. 

Harold has been involved in the commercialization of novel medical devices for over 25 years.  He currently sits on the boards of several private medical device companies in both Canada and the United States. 

Harold holds a doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto.  He has managed a Biomedical Engineering department at a teaching hospital, served as Chief Engineer at a medical device company, and most recently co-founded Biomedical Instrumentation Inc., a company that became a leading worldwide supplier of products for cardiac electrophysiology.  Biomedical Instrumentation was acquired by a major pharmaceutical firm.
