High-Fidelity Pressure Measurements for Animal Research
Pressure Catheters Brochure

Pressure Catheters
(725 KB)

Download our “pressure brochure” to learn more about our high-fidelity pressure sensors for use in a variety of animal models.  Catheter sizes range from 1.2F to 7F.

PV in Rodents
(928 KB)

Scisense rodent pressure-volume hardware and catheters are specifically designed for use with small rodents.  Different hardware and catheter options are available to suit a variety of standard or unique applications.  Our FV896B PV control hardware is typically used to record single segment conductance volume from “normal” sized mice and rats.  Our FV898B Variable Segment Length (VSL) PV control box is used to measure volume in larger rodents (in combination with our VSL catheters) and is also used for isolated working heart preparations.  Download our “rodent PV” brochure to learn more.

PV in Larger Animals
(925 KB)

Our GX5 multi-segment PV system for larger animals provides real-time conductance derived volume data in a variety of animal models.  Unique features include the ability to turn on/off segments of volume and also to individually “tune” each segment during the calibration process.  Our “tuneable segment” technology ensures that each segment yields the same voltage change for a given volume change.  Multi-segment catheters are available in 3F, 5F and 7F sizes and can be customized to include guidewire lumens, injection lumens and pigtails.  Learn more by downloading our “large animal PV brochure”.

Octapolar EP Catheters
(528 KB)

Our 1.2F and 1.6F octapolar EP catheters have a series of 8 electrodes situated at the tip of a catheter.  These rings are spaced anywhere between 0.5 mm and 1.0 mm apart.  Multiple intracardiac Electrograms can be recorded from pairs of electrodes.  These catheters provide detailed information about the propagation of electrical signals through the heart during the cardiac cycle.  A simulator can be connected to the Scisense electrophysiology catheters so that they can be use to simultaneously pace the heart and record biopotentials.  Please download our “electrophysiology” brochure to learn more.

FA-404 Recorder
(432 KB)

The Scisense FA-404 is an economical, general purpose data acquisition and analysis system for use with any analog amplifier.  The recorder offers 16-bit data collection at speeds up to 10 KHz, providing acquisition speeds appropriate for most research applications.  The FA-404 includes LabScribe2 software which allows “one-click” control of the entire acquisition process, plus a large library of standard analytical functions to process data.  The FA-404 recorder is powered via a USB interface to any Macintosh or PC, eliminating the need to install special interface cards.  Download our “FA-404 Technical Data Sheet” for more information.

LabScribe2 Software
(2.2 MB)

Scisense is proud to offer LabScribe2 Recording and Analysis Software from iWorx/CB Sciences as a platform for acquisition and analysis of hemodynamic research data.  LabScribe2 contains a wide array of real-time and offline calculation functions including periodic derivations of minimum, maximum and mean values, derivatives and integrals of signals.  Data can be stored during acquisition in the built-in journal for easy reporting and presentation.  The optional PV loop module contains an extensive list of calculations which can be viewed in real-time.  Download our “LabScribe2 summary” brochure for more information.

Ponemah Physiology Platform

PONEMAH Software
(1.1 MB)

The PONEMAH Physiology Platform consists of a 16-channel A/D converter connected to a computer via USB pot.  The Core Software is capable of displaying, saving and analyzing up to 128 primary signals in real-time.  The software architecture is modular in nature and has a number of unique features including: data security options, creation of study protocols and templates, pre-defined event markers, data parsing and data reduction capabilities. An Open database connectivity (ODBC) feature is compatible with either MS Excel or Access and will generate files containing summary data during the course of an experiments. Ponemah offers an optional PV Loop module for calculation of basic elastance and compliance measures like ESPVR, EDPVR and PRSW.  Learn more about the “PONEMAH System” by downloading and viewing our summary brochure.
