The Scisense FV898B VSL Pressure-Volume control unit is a dual-input signal conditioner and amplifier for in vitro ‘Working Heart’ applications and for operation of our unique VSL (Variable Segment Length) pressure-volume sensors. The FV898B control unit is equipped with both Gain and Offset controls allowing researchers to calibrate to unique buffer solutions, such as Krebs-Heiselate. Secondly, Scisense VSL pressure-volume catheters are valuable in that they provide 4 different electrode spacings for conductance volume recordings. Researchers can therefore select the spacing that ‘best fits’ the heart they are studying, ensuring the utmost accurate measurements. The system ultimately provides a comprehensive analysis of hemodynamics and indices of cardiac contractility for both in vivo and in vitro protocols. The control unit is equipped with a 2-point electronic calibration for pressure with zero balance control. The FV898B control unit can be connected to any data acquisition system via two BNC terminals. |
